The Cape Forchu lighthouse 1840-1962
The "new" lighthouse and light keeper's house are now owned by the Municipality of Yarmouth
Looking north
The light is no longer in use. The Friends of the Yarmouth Light operate a tea room and museum in the former keeper's house.
The Markland Hotel was a popular summer resort in the early 1900s.
Traces of the long wharf that extended out into the harbour in front of the Markland Hotel can still be seen at low tide.
